WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PRIMARY LIABILITY
AND NON-TRUCKING LIABILITY?

When you are running under the authority of the company you are leased to, their primary liability covers you. Non-trucking liability comes into effect when you are no longer under the authority of the company you are leased to; i.e., you have dropped the last load and are on your own time.

WHAT IS BLANKET LESSEE COVERAGE?

This coverage is used if the insured trip leases under someone else’s authority. Generally when this is done, the driver signs a "hold-harmless agreement." In order for there to be coverage when you are not operating under your own authority, you would need this coverage on your policy.

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PHYSICAL DAMAGE COVERAGE WHEN WE ARE PULLING NON-OWNED TRAILERS?

Your company is always responsible when the trailer is in your care, custody and control. Unless you have a "hold harmless agreement" signed by the other party, the responsibility is yours.

If you need to lease a unit for a short period of time (less than 30 days) for incidental use, you would not be required to notify the liability carrier if you have this coverage as part of your policy.

Yes, we can. These reports are available through DAC Services. Notify us when you want to check on a potential driver and we’ll order the report at no charge. Most MVRs can be obtained within 24 hours.
