 MOTOR TRUCK CARGO:
Basic Coverage --
Motor Truck Cargo – provides coverage for your legal liability for the property of others as a carrier under tariff documents, bills of lading or shipping receipts issued by you. This policy can typically be endorsed to provide coverage that will meet your individual needs such as reefer breakdown, loading & unloading or wet steel coverage. Following is a brief explanation of some optional coverages that may be available.
Some Optional Coverages:
Wet Steel – provides coverage for rust, which is typically excluded in most cargo forms.
Reefer Breakdown -- provides coverage for cargo loss caused by the mechanical or electrical breakdown or malfunction of a temperature control system.
Terminal Coverage – provides coverage for commodities being held in or at your terminal location for a period of time longer than that allowed by the base cargo form.
Pollution Clean Up – provides coverage to extract pollutants from land or water caused by a covered cause of loss.
Debris Removal – provides coverage for reasonable and necessary costs to remove debris caused by and resulting from a covered loss.
 Striking of Load – provides coverage when something (i.e.
tree branch, viaduct, etc) hits the commodity being transported
and the tractor is not damaged.
Loading & Unloading – provides coverage for the commodity
while it is being loaded or unloaded.
Combined Deductibles – this coverage allows you to pay only
one deductible in the event a loss occurs involving both physical
damage and cargo.
